There is an ancient Chinese belief which states that there is an invisible red thread that connects each of us to all of the individuals who have been, currently are, and will in the future be important to us in our lives.
This red thread can stretch, twist, and bend… but will never break.
Every year on Gotcha Day, Katie gets pictures taken. Then night before she went this year, she decided that she better practice posing before she went. She wanted me to take pictures of her poses, so she wouldn't forget them.
Katie is always thrilled to hear from my friend, Noreen. She was especially happy to receive a special card for Gotcha Day, where Noreen was extremely generous and sent Katie some money for a gift.
Every spring, our school has a Pride Night to celebrate all of the hard work of the students. This year, Katie sang some songs, showed my sister and me some of her work, and helped me pass out some ice cream. It's always a fun night!
After my mom watched her students sing, I showed Aunt Jennifer and her some of my work in the classroom!
Then it was time for me to sing. I like to choose a spot in the back!
I love singing a lot, but I don't always love people watching me!
We sang five songs, and I loved each one!
When I got home, I sang all the songs to my mom again.
We decided to get Mr. Limpet a cat tower to play on when we found one at Costco. Of course, Katie had to turn it into part of a fort for her and the cat.
I knew Mr. Limpet would come inside the fort with me. I had a pile of books ready for him when he joined me!
After Katie got the whole series of Magic Tree House books, she put them on one of our shelves and decided that the shelf was our library. If you're going to have a library, you have to have a library card.
I made my mom this necklace. It's connected to a library card holder.
Then I put her library card inside.
I make her scan the card whenever she wants to see a book from my library!
As I mentioned earlier in the blog, my mom, sister, Katie, and I had tickets to go and see Randy Rainbow when he was in town. It was so much fun, and Katie got to see him perform a couple of her favorite songs!
I was pretty excited for Randy Rainbow to come onstage!
Katie absolutely loves the Magic Tree House series. She began reading them when she found out that her dance recital this year will be based on the stories. When she saw that you could get the whole book set from a Scholastic book order, she asked if I might get them for her.
I didn't give her the answer but surprised her with them when they got here. She was so happy about them and started organizing them right away.
I couldn't believe how many books I had!
It was hard to control my happiness!
I started organizing my books, so I could look at them in order!
It took awhile, but I did it!
When I got done, I studied each of the covers and tried to guess what adventure might happen inside!
