A Stare Down

When Katie was at Jennifer's, she sat down on the couch. She happened to sit on the spot that Sadie likes to sleep. A stare down ensued.

Sadie wondered why I was in her spot.

Even though she really wanted me to move, I stayed put.

She got to enjoy me blowing at her instead.

Even when she knew I wasn't moving, she kept staring at me!

Dog Walker

Katie spent the day with my sister, Jennifer, and while she was there she helped walk the dogs. 

I used to have to wear the leash around my waist to hold onto the dogs, but now I can use my hands.

The dogs love going on walks!

It was a nice day for a walk!

Spring Flowers

Katie loves seeing flowers blossoming around the neighborhood.

The rhododendrons are getting so pretty!

A New Toothbrush

Katie was so excited when she saw her new toothbrush from the dentist and saw that it was clear. I guess she has never seen a clear one before.

I love having a see-through toothbrush!

Loose Teeth

Katie went to the dentist and the orthodontist last week. The orthodontist told me she's about to lose a lot of teeth. I didn't realize it would start this weekend!

I kept wiggling this tooth all day, and I was surprised when it popped out!

I'm always glad to lose a tooth, but this is the tooth that I do a lot of my biting on so it feels weird now.

Getting the Cats Settled

The cats love Katie's attention, and she knows just how to settle them.

First, I pet them for awhile.

Then I sit by the blanket, and they come to sleep next to me.

A "New" Hoodie

Quite awhile ago, my sister gave Katie a hoodie, and it finally fits!

Helping Out

I help run an after school club where we focus on social skills with the kindergarten students. Katie loves the days when she is at school, so she can help out.

I try to look out for kids who need a friend, and I help them think of something to play. It's so much fun!

Visiting the Dentist

Katie still loves to visit her dentist and loves to pick out a toy or two when she finishes.

You're never too old for a ball!

Favorite FaceTime Place

Katie loves to FaceTime with her school friend. She could talk for hours! Her favorite place to talk is sitting on the stairs because she feels like the Wi-Fi connection is best there. 

I always set myself up with my Chromebook and my iPad, so I'm all ready with any technology I need!

So Responsible

Throughout this whole pandemic, Katie has been so responsible to wash her hands. Even after the same routine for over a year, you can always count on her to remind all of us to wash our hands.

Another Walk

Katie doesn't always walk in her pajamas!

We have had such nice walking weather.

Seeing an Old Friend

Katie has been wanting to go on neighborhood walks in the evenings. She chooses just to go out in her pajamas part of the time because it's dark. The other night she was so happy to see an old friend!

Most of our pictures didn't turn out, but I was so happy to see the neighborhood cat that I love so much. I soon as I squatted down, he started going in circles around me. I love him!

The Screaming Goat

Katie has always thought screaming goats were so funny. At Easter, she got a small screaming goat of her own, and she thinks it's hilarious.

This is the look I get when I'm about to make my goat scream because I like to tease everyone with it!

There's something about it that just makes me laugh.

A Thank You Note

Katie was happy to receive a thank you note from Locks of Love for donating her hair.

I wasn't expecting a thank you note, but I was happy to get it!

Building Legos

Katie got a Friends Lego set for Christmas this year, and she decided that it was the perfect time to build it last week. We had a lot of fun as we worked together on it.

I really love watching Friends, so it was fun to build "Central Perk."

Katie has been watching YouTube videos to teach her how to draw Anime characters. She usually watches a video multiple times and practices over and over.

We had to take this picture from a distance so General Washington wouldn't move, so the quality isn't great. However, the love that he has for Katie showed though.

I was just relaxing on the floor when General Washington decided to jump up next to my face.

The Easter Egg Hunt

You're never too old to hunt for Easter eggs!

There's something fun about filling an Easter basket!

I remember when I used to have to stretch up to reach this part of the tree.

Just double checking to make sure I got all the eggs.

The last one I found was stuck in these bushes!

The Snapchat filters came out again for Easter!

Coloring the Eggs

Coloring Easter eggs is a part of our Easter traditions. Katie loves doing it!

I always try to drop the eggs in the dye slowly, so it doesn't splash a lot.

I always like how the eggs look in the cups, but it's hard to wait the five minutes for them.

Sometimes it's hard to balance the eggs on the wire holder, but I got pretty good at it!

The only spill from the blue cup came from my mom.

We used the egg carton for our eggs to dry this year, and it worked a lot better than the dye box that we usually use.

They looked good in the end! We were trying to color 12 eggs, but one ended up in my stomach when my mom accidentally dropped it on the counter as she was moving it to the dye. It was delicious!
