More Blackberries

It didn't take long for Katie to go from a few ripe blackberries to a whole bowlful of them!

I love having free fruit right next to my house!

Best Friends

The cats were caught cuddling right next to Katie. Who wouldn't want to be curled up on a soft blanket next to her?

My picture turned out pretty fuzzy, but I did my best to capture their cuteness!

Finally

Our zucchini plant was so slow in growing this year. We were happy to finally see our plant get a flower!

I love zucchini flowers!

The Cats

Our cats have been craving attention lately. They don't just sit in our laps. They get as close to our face as they can to sit.

When the cats get so close, it's hard to get a picture.

These cute faces are almost nose to nose with us!

One More Try

The next morning Katie wanted to try twisting her hair one more time.

It worked better the second day!

The Veil of Disguise

After twisting her hair, Katie put on her veil of disguise.

I like that I can cover my whole face with my hair!

TIkTok Twist

Katie saw a TikTok video with me that showed a fun way to twist your hair. She wanted to try it right away.

It was a first try, so it wasn't perfect, but it was still fun!

It's Time!

Katie has been patiently waiting for blackberry season, and it's finally here!

This was my first blackberry of the season!

A Gift

Katie was so happy to receive a gift from my brother's family while they were here.

Uncle Jeff, Aunt Grace, Ian, and Eva brought a gift for me, and I loved it! They could not have picked any better! Thank you!

A Visit to the Fort

After we got home from the waterfall, we went to visit an old fort. It was a hot day, but we had fun learning about the history of the fort.

There was a breeze on this hot day and when it caught my hat, it looked like I was wearing a big cowboy hat.

I loved to just stand in the shade.

We climbed to the top of the watch tower at the fort.

On the way down, I held onto the rails because I really don't like open stairs like this.

A Quick Visit

My brother and his family stopped by for a quick visit on their way to Hawaii. Katie was so excited to see everyone.

We headed towards the land of waterfalls to go on a hike.

We all climbed to the very top of the waterfall!

Then we went over by a river and played for awhile.

We had fun throwing sticks and rocks into the water and watching them.

We had a good time!

High Heels

We were out shopping for some shoes for Katie, and she decided to try on some high heels to be funny. It was harder to step out of the shoes than she thought!

The Love

We were spending some time upstairs when the workers were back at the house, and the cats found a place to be happy together.

The cats barely fit, but they made it work.

A Sleepover

When the housework was almost done, Katie had a sleepover. 

I had so much fun with my friends!

President Lincoln

It's always a good day when you find a statue of a president to visit.

I had no idea that President Lincoln was hanging out at the beach too.

A Little Shopping

Of course we had to do some shopping! We stopped by some of the small local shops, picked up Katie's favorite taffy, and then went to the outlet stores.

I got some gifts for others, but I also got some clothes for myself!

One Last Challenge

Katie spent the rest of her time on the beach trying to find the perfect shell. 

I never found a perfect shell, but I found lots of shells that were perfect for me!

A Beach-Loving Girl

Just a girl and the ocean...

I could just stay here forever!

The Rocks

The rocks on the beach were a very popular spot because of all of the tide pools to explore, but when you go out early in the morning, you can have that spot all to yourself!

Even with the clouds, it was a beautiful morning!

The Seagulls

We like to watch all of the birds when we're at the beach. Of course there are always plenty of seagulls!

We got pretty close to the seagull on the rocks.

Others had found a treat to eat!

Breakfast Time

Katie got to choose breakfast for us, so we had gone to the store and she chose chocolate chocolate chip muffins.

Breakfast was good, but it was even better sitting by the window and watching the ocean!

A Sunset

What could be better than a sunset at the beach?

We took another walk while we waited for the sun to set.

I looked for a perfect shell while we walked.

It was so pretty!

When I wasn't finding shells, I was finding smooth rocks.

Goodnight, sun!

Once the sun went down, it got a lot cooler pretty fast!

Lots of Stairs

After exploring the town a bit and grabbing dinner, we went back to the beach for another walk and to watch the sunset. One of the things we passed were the steps we had walked up earlier in the day to get off the beach. It was a very large staircase with over 150 steps. After going up the steps once, we chose to use the shorter ramp down the beach every other time!

I'm pointing to where the staircase was. In this picture, it doesn't look nearly as tall as it was in person!

Getting Her Feet Wet

After playing in the soft sand, Katie wanted to walk down the beach in bare feet. Of course it's easier to walk on the wet sand, so we headed towards the water.

It felt good to get my feet wet!

Even when my feet start to get cold, I stay in the water.

I decided to throw rocks into the ocean to see how far I could throw.

The dog close by thought I was playing fetch and went running for the rock.

Dogs are fun!

This was a lot better than sitting in the house with the contractors!

The Soft Sand

After looking for sand piggies, Katie wanted to spend a bit of time in the soft sand at the top of the beach.

I decided it was high time to take my shoes off and spend my time barefoot!

I wasn't digging. I was drawing in the sand.

Someone else had made this hole in the sand, and I kept saying, "Look! I'm standing in someone else's hole!"

It was time for more artwork.

Then I started molding.

Can you guess what I made?

It's a mountain with a hiking trail. I made sure to put a rock on the top because all the mountain tops I've been to are rocky.
