A Whole New World

Katie has been having some difficulty seeing distance, so she went to the eye doctor to get her first pair of glasses.

Exploring with Markers

Katie usually loves drawing with a pencil and doesn't color, but lately she has been exploring with some of her art markers.

More Manga

We didn't really use Black Friday to go Christmas shopping for others. We went to Barnes and Noble because they were having a sale to get Katie more Manga books.

This was one of the books that I was excited about getting.

A Chilly Walk

Chilly or warm, it's always nice to go on a walk.

A Snapchat Thanksgiving

 It was a holiday, so it was time for Snapchat.

Out Comes the Stuffing Pot

Thanksgiving means getting out the stuffing pot, and getting out the stuffing pot means it's time to see if Katie still fits in the pot. It has been a good run, but at thirteen years old, Katie can no longer fit in the pot. Does that mean she can stop getting pictures with it? No.

Tapping

Katie was the only one who showed up for her tap class this week, so she got a private lesson.

My teacher is nice, but I miss my friends when they're not there.

A Dirty Dog

Katie was helping us put together the pumpkin pies. After we put the pumpkin in the bowl, she let the dogs lick a little bit of pumpkin that was left in the can. They were so happy!

I didn't know that Sophie would stick her whole head in the can!

A New Haircut

Katie decided she wanted to try bangs at her last haircut.

I like how they turned out.

Making Arepas

It's always nice when it's arepa night because it's Katie's specialty. She like to put the arepas together for us.

Each arepa is filled with cheese.

They end up shaped like a biscuit. They're yummy!

In the end, Jennifer's Disney tree looked amazing as always!

I get taller than Aunt Jennifer every day, and I like it!

Joking Around

Katie thought she was being funny by attaching the huge clump of hooks to her ornament to hang on the tree.

I got this all the way on the tree before Aunt Jennifer noticed!

Which One Next?

Katie always chose her next ornament carefully.

I avoided the green ornaments because they're not my favorite.

Katie's favorite part of decorating the tree is hanging the ornaments.

Now For the Fun Part

After trying on the tree skirt, Katie was selected to put it under the tree.

This has always been Aunt Jennifer's job until this year. Now I know why she wanted to pass it on to me.

Being Silly

We were at my sister's house, and Katie was helping Jennifer put up her Christmas tree. When it was time for Katie to put the tree skirt on, she decided that it would make the perfect jacket.

Aunt Jennifer helped me get my "jacket" on, so it looked just right.

Going Shopping

One of Katie's favorite stores is Bath and Bodyworks. She was so happy to go there this weekend.

I was shopping for some holiday scents.

Sketching with the Cats

When Katie is sketching, the cats like to keep track of what she is drawing.

Both cats are pretty good to watch from a distance.

Taking Care of Bailey

My sister, Jennifer, went on a work trip. When she's gone, the dogs usually go to the daycare that they love. Bailey recently had knee surgery though, so she wasn't able to go. Katie did a good job helping me take care of her in Jennifer's absence.

Bailey was really good when Aunt Jennifer was gone, but she also missed home.

Getting it Organized

It didn't take long for Katie to organize all of her goods. Once that was done, she could choose a treat.

Out of everything on the table, I was most excited about my chips.

Sorting

Once Katie looks at the amount of candy she has on Halloween, she always sorts it.

As I was sorting, I discovered I got a lot of full size treats!

The Loot

When Katie got home from trick-or-treating, the first things she did was to dump out her candy to look at what she had gotten.

Mr. Limpet was impressed with everything I got!

Waiting for Trick-or-Treating

This year, Katie made plans with two neighborhood friends to go trick-or-treating. This was their first year to go without adults being with them. All three girls are very responsible and trustworthy, and they couldn't wait to go.

I had my costume on and was just waiting for the sun to set.

A Good Lunch

After a busy morning at the pumpkin patch, Katie got to go out to lunch with Kathy and Kai.

We got to have one of my favorite lunches - sub sandwiches! Thank you for all the fun, Kathy and Kai!

The Perfect Pumpkin

After a bit of looking, Katie found the  perfect pumpkin.
