Red Thread...

There is an ancient Chinese belief which states that there is an invisible red thread that connects each of us to all of the individuals who have been, currently are, and will in the future be important to us in our lives.

This red thread can stretch, twist, and bend… but will never break.

A Special Recognition

Katie was so excited to get a paper to celebrate her perfect attendance in school for the month of November!

I was so proud of myself when my teacher gave me this!

Seeing the Lights

On the last night that Jeff was in town, we went to see some of the local Christmas lights. It was a display where you stay in the car and drive around the decorations. We thought it would be some easy and fast entertainment, but we ended up being in the car for two hours. We laughed a lot about our misconceptions, but it created memories!

We were excited when we got to start driving through the decorations after waiting in the long line.

They allow kids to sit in the front seats because you're going so slow, so I got to share the driver's seat with Aunt Jennifer.

I'm pretty sure Uncle Jeff was thinking about getting up early in the morning for his flight while we spent two hours here.

This was one of my favorite parts of the drive!
Thanks for sharing it with us, Uncle Jeff!

Those Cats

It always makes me mad when the cats jump up on the counter, but it always makes Katie smile.

I feel like someone is looking over my shoulder!

Thoughtfulness

After my dad passed away, my friends brought Katie some gifts that made her feel very loved and gave her some of the happiness that had been missing.

My former principal left some gifts on our doorstep, and I found happiness!

Mr. Limpet wasn't sure about the giant unicorn, but I sure was!

There are certain people in the world who know exactly what you need.

Even when I wasn't filled with happiness at the moment, my unicorn still brought comfort.

Later, some of the teachers that work with my mom brought me some Christmas crafts and a squishy stuffed animal.

I felt so lucky!

It was fun to just focus on the season for a bit.

I made bunches of decorations and ornaments.

I even got to make door hangers. I loved everything! Thank you so much!

Happy New Year, 2020!

We always have a low-key New Year's Eve, and that's just the way we like it! We stay up for the ball drop on the east coast and we have our own count down with the ball. Then, just for fun, we make New Year Resolutions.

Katie made three resolutions this year...
1. Act normal.
2. Be myself.
3. Grow some food for myself - like strawberries.

To prepare for a joyful new year, I put together a yummy treat of raspberries and planned a card game as a fun activity!

My mom and I like to play Crazy 8s!

Time to begin a new year!
