We went out looking for some new furniture for Katie's bedroom, and we decided to look at a second hand section of the store. Katie was excited to find Ronald McDonald in her search.

Time for Ice Skating

 Maria invited Katie to go ice skating with her. They always have fun together.

Grand Opening

 Katie and Maria decided. to go to a grand opening of an ice cream shop, not knowing that they would have to wait in line for an hour.

We weren't sure that the food was worth the wait.

Driving Class

How was it already time to learn to drive!?? Katie was very excited to get her driver's permit and enroll in classes last winter. The first time behind the wheel, however, brought on some nerves.

I had to put in lots of hours of driving. I was a little nervous the first drive which was just in a parking lot.

Visiting the Cats

Last winter, we did some renovation on our upstairs. Jennifer was nice enough to take care of our cats for a month while the workers were in and out. The cats always loved it when Katie went to visit.

I missed the cats when they weren't home!

Out Shopping

 When Katie went out shopping with Maria's family, Maria and Katie quickly found what they wanted.

How is Katie old enough for her driver's permit? She worked hard this past winter to go to driving classes, put in 50 hours of driving time, and pass all the tests she needed to pass in order to get her driver's license. Now she just has to wait for her birthday.

It made me happy to have two friends in my class. 

Another Sleepover

Our Squirrel Friend

We have a squirrel who lives in the tree right outside our front door. When it sees the cats in the window, it likes to sit on the fence and just stare at them and taunt them. It provides the entertainment for the cats that they need.

We think our squirrel is pretty friendly, but the cats would like to eat it.

Going to a Movie

Katie was very excited to go to a movie with her friend. They had both been waiting for it to come out, so they decided to go together.

It's always more fun to go to a movie with a good friend.

Spending Quality Time with a Good Friend

When Katie went to high school, half of her friends went to her school while the other half went to another high school. She takes time to make sure she is still in contact with the friends who are no longer at her school.

We like to go to Starbucks and catch up, and...

A Christmas Dance in January

This year Katie's dance studio decided to hold off on their Christmas dances until January for some reason. Katie's favorite part of the dance was hanging out with her friend!

Our Christmas dance was a really easy dance, so it took some of the fun out of it, but I still was glad I got to dance it with Gabby!

Making a Presentation

Katie joined DECA this year at school. As part of her work in the club, she had to give a business proposal presentation to a group of judges with her friend. They looked so professional!

It was a very long day, but I was glad to spend it with my friend!
