Katie was hanging out at Garyldine's house one afternoon. After a diaper change, the powder was found and fun was in store. I'm not so sure Garyldine's dog, Sammy, was impressed!
Red Thread...
There is an ancient Chinese belief which states that there is an invisible red thread that connects each of us to all of the individuals who have been, currently are, and will in the future be important to us in our lives.
This red thread can stretch, twist, and bend… but will never break.

Laughter and Powder
The other night, Katie was sitting on the couch with my mom and playing with her blocks. She decided it was really funny to hold a block (or sometimes an imaginary block) on the back of the couch and wait for my mom to grab it. The video is dark, and the quality isn't great, but the sound makes it all worth it!

Keeping Busy
Last weekend, Katie re-discovered our dog dish full of water. She carefully watched Chloe get a drink of water. Then she dipped her hand in the bowl a few times, which got her pants a little wet. I took her pants off, so they would dry, and she went on to carry the pants through the house until she found herself sitting next to the dog bowl again. I wanted to take her picture sitting there, so I looked down to turn on my camera. When I looked back up, she had put her pants completely in the dog water. She had lots of fun splashing and completely soaking herself!

SPLASH!
Hey! I'm wet all over!
Other than learning to wash her own clothes in the dog bowl, Katie has been her busy self playing with her favorite toys, which include her pets!
Katie loves her wooden puzzle with farm animals!

Having Fun
It's always so much fun to watch Katie as she develops new behaviors. At Christmas, Santa gave her a bottle with her doll. It's one of those bottles that looks like it has milk in it until it turns over and disappears. Katie likes feeding her doll with it, feeding Chloe with it, trying to feed Bingle with it, and feeding the camera case with it. This week, she decided she was as worthy of the bottle as anyone else, and tried to drink from the bottle herself!

Chinese New Year - Year of the Dragon
I dressed Katie up in her traditional Chinese outfit for Chinese New Year. She was still able to wear the same dress she wore for the red couch photo in China. At least her shoes stayed on this time since they weren't so big on her!

How about some blankets if you don't want the camera?
Peace at last!
Still Loving Her Books
Katie's morning starts off every day with her basket of books. She usually wants to "read" her books herself before she has an adult read the books of her choice. It's funny to watch her. By the end of the morning, most (if not all) of her books are scattered around her.

The First Snowfall
We got a little bit of snow this week. Katie loved it! When she first saw the big snowflakes through her window, she kept pointing and laughing at them. She reacted as though the snowflakes were bubbles. When we first took her outside, she held her finger out to "pop" the snowflakes like her bubbles.
Once we got enough snow to stick, Katie went out to experience walking in the snow - - well more like slush. She enjoyed that as well, especially stomping around in the driveway, the area with the most slush.

What is all of this?
I love to see my footprints!

Katie in her lamb hat! Jennifer hates the hat and thinks it's mean to put it on Katie, but I think it's cute!
