Red Thread...

There is an ancient Chinese belief which states that there is an invisible red thread that connects each of us to all of the individuals who have been, currently are, and will in the future be important to us in our lives.

This red thread can stretch, twist, and bend… but will never break.

Katie's Exciting Day

On Wednesday, Katie had a particularly exciting day. She started by helping to build her tallest tower yet out of Mega Blocks! When she would put the tall stack of blocks on top of the building, she would cheer and clap for herself. Then she would do it again and cheer and clap again.

Yeah, Me!

Later in the day, my mom and Katie were watching squirrels and rabbits out of our side window. Then they saw a weird-looking cat with a short tail walk down the road by the side of our house. Katie started talking/yelling at the cat the same way that she does to Bingle and then she started meowing. They moved to the back window to keep watching the cat as it moved down by our "pond" and sat down to give itself a bath.

When Jennifer and I got home, we got an update of the cat. Jennifer grabbed the binoculars to look at it and saw that it had huge paws. She decided it couldn't be a domestic cat. I took some pictures of it, and later we looked on the Internet to try to find out what it was. It was a bobcat!  Luckily our new friend, the bobcat, isn't around much!

After bath time, Katie practiced her climbing and balancing act!

Look at me!

Katie's "Job"

Katie has decided that it's her job to feed Chloe. Whenever we put Chloe's food down so she can eat, Katie goes and snatches to bowl so she can give Chloe the food at whatever rate she determines is good. Sometimes Chloe gets one piece of food at a time, sometimes she gets a handful. It all depends on how Katie feels at the time. Luckily, Chloe is very patient with Katie and sometimes even enjoys her attention during the meal.

I decided to capture some of the pictures with Katie's morning hair, which can be very beautiful!

I got your food dish!

Here's a few pieces to start with.

Chloe: Come on, more, more, more!

Chloe: Sometimes this involves a lot of waiting!

The Joy of a Box

Over the weekend, we finally changed Katie's Exersaucer set-up, so she could walk up to it and play instead of sitting in it. I had gone downstairs to get the box and directions, and when I returned with the box, Katie decided it was a great toy!

Do you want to hear my book, Chloe?

Now I have a newspaper ad and a book!

Maybe I should stand up.

No, better not…I'll just squat at the very, very edge!

Enjoying the Sunday ads!

Okay, I'm brave enough to stand now!

Chasing Chloe

The other night after her bath, Katie decided to climb up in the chair with Chloe, so she could comb Chloe's hair. Chloe had other ideas and tried to escape. The chase was on!

Hi, Chloe!

Chloe has a better plan!

 I found you!

I can copy you!

I found you again!

Where did Chloe go?

Ah-ha! There you are!

Chloe escaped!

I guess I'll just play with my piggy bank instead!

Katie's Chair

Katie is enjoying furniture that is built for her size. She has the rocking chair that used to be my grandma's chair when she was Katie's size, and Katie is getting to the point where she can climb up into it.

I've got Elmo, my water, and my own chair. What else would anyone need?

This is a great chair!

Later in the day, Katie practiced her sharing skills with Chloe. She was eating some puffs, but Chloe wanted some too.  My mom was the Puff-Keeper while Katie and Chloe waited for their turns.

This one is mine, Chloe!

I think I can reach it before Chloe!

Where's the Puff?

Creativity

Katie sometimes gets tired of getting on the couch in a normal way. She tries to find creative ways to change this up. (She also tries to find creative ways to change her hair herself!)

How else can I get up there?

I knew this table was here for some reason.

Now if I can just get my foot up there.

I'll just stretch my body over there.

Well I can't get over there, but this is pretty comfortable!

Finding Grandma's Computer

Katie doesn't spend very much time with a computer yet, but she would love to if it was her choice!

I know I have to move my finger on this touch pad.

Wow! Look at what I did! I hope Grandma knows how to fix it!

I'll just put this away and pretend I didn't do anything!
