Red Thread...

There is an ancient Chinese belief which states that there is an invisible red thread that connects each of us to all of the individuals who have been, currently are, and will in the future be important to us in our lives.

This red thread can stretch, twist, and bend… but will never break.

Enjoying the Patio

Katie was enjoying some time with Aunt Jennifer on the patio while Chloe spent some quality time in the yard. She really liked just sitting in the patio chair and watching everything around her.

Sometimes it's nice just to sit and observe.

Bee! Bee! I found a bee!

This is pretty relaxing.

Will I see anything else?

Maybe I'll just stick my tongue out and laugh!

A Perfect Spot

The other night, Katie found the perfect spot to hang out. She used to sit on the shelf. Since she no longer fits when she sits, she made do!

I love my new spot!

Coloring with Grandma

Katie loves to color with anyone. Coloring is better when done with two after all!

Grandma, how did you ever get so good at coloring?

I can't wait until I can color like you!

A Gift

My Aunt Jody was in town visiting, and she brought Katie the cutest gift. It was a little backpack that held four stuffed kittens. As you might imagine, Katie was very happy to get anything cat-related! Thanks, Aunt Jody!

Look at this cat, Grandma!

How do I get them out?

Let me try on my own.

I did it!

Oh! There's another kitten!

I love my new cute kittens!

An Official Hair Cut

Katie went with my mom and Garyldine when they got their haircut again. This time, Katie got an official haircut herself - or maybe it was just a trim. She has gotten a trim before, but she has never sat in the chair by herself. She did a great job…no crying, no fussing.

I don't know about this.

I guess I'll try my best though.

Reading with Aunt Jennifer

Katie wanted to read with Jennifer one night. She didn't want Jennifer to read to her. She wanted Jennifer to read to Bear. Once Jennifer started reading, Katie would get a separate book and read it at the same time.

I can read my book just like you read yours!

You do a good job reading, Aunt Jennifer!

I know what animal you're reading about!

Maybe I'll just listen to you after all.

Packing Up

When it was time to leave Idaho, Katie decided to make the trip to the car easier by hitching a ride.

I found a comfortable spot!
