Red Thread...

There is an ancient Chinese belief which states that there is an invisible red thread that connects each of us to all of the individuals who have been, currently are, and will in the future be important to us in our lives.

This red thread can stretch, twist, and bend… but will never break.

All You Need is a Packing Bag

Katie likes to turn anything into a toy. The other day I got a package in the mail, and it wasn't long before the packing bags were turned into high fashion.

I quickly made a matching hat and belt!

A Zoo Trip

Katie had fun going to the zoo with Kai one rainy morning. The good thing about going on a rainy day is that there's usually not a crowd, and you can have a better view of the animals.

Kai was being funny in the car on the way there!

I decided to sit in the eagle's nest while...

…the eagle sat nearby.

Of course I made my way through the tree tunnel!

Kai and I had plenty of room to jump in the rain puddles.

The lions were all close and staying out of the rain.

It was fun to see them so close!

Kai and I got to drive the truck by the African animals. I was pretty good at it!

Then we got to be part of a zoo display.

As we were leaving I found my own umbrella!

It worked perfectly!

A Letter to Santa

Katie started making her list to Santa early this year. She only wants one thing…a "real life unicorn."

I hope Santa grants my wish!

To explain the end of the letter…when Katie told her Aunt Jennifer that she wanted a real unicorn, Jennifer explained that she would have to be on poop duty. Katie didn't want any part of that, so she decided to ask for a special unicorn that didn't poop.

Relaxing on an Island

One morning we had cleaned out living room carpet. Katie decided to spread towels out on the carpet, so she'd stay dry. Then she decided that she might as well pretend to be on an island.

Just thought I'd relax under the sun while the carpet dried!

Little Ballerina

Katie continues to love dancing. It always puts a smile on her face!

I get to do a lot more barre work this year!

It's easy for me to point my toe behind me.

It's harder when we have to balance that way and begin letting go of the barre.

My balance is getting better though.

Sometimes I'm perfectly balanced!

A Star

Katie may look like she's pretending to be a star in this picture. That's what I thought she was doing. She quickly corrected me though. She was just wearing sunglasses, so she could stare at the light bulb while she dusted it with her duster. Makes complete sense.

It's important to keep the inside of the lights clean!

Writing to a Pal

Katie decided she wanted to write letters to the presidents. She chose President Carter to start with since she had met him this summer. She chose to put Barbie stickers on it, "so he will know it's a fabulous letter!"

I think the stickers add the pizzazz to my letter!

I'm so excited to write to a president!
