Red Thread...

There is an ancient Chinese belief which states that there is an invisible red thread that connects each of us to all of the individuals who have been, currently are, and will in the future be important to us in our lives.

This red thread can stretch, twist, and bend… but will never break.

Trivial Pursuit

Ever since Jennifer bought the Disney Trivial Pursuit game, Katie wants to play all the time. She absolutely loves the game, especially when she's in charge of all of the pie pieces.

I'm pretty good at answering Disney questions!

How to Catch a Vampire

Katie was talking to Jennifer one day, and she gave her specific steps for catching a vampire. I have no idea how this conversation came about, but I thought the steps were pretty funny! Here were her steps and tips.

Step One: Capture the vampire and wrap him in rope.
Step Two: Take him to the police.
Step Three: Teach him manners.
Step Four: Throw socks at him.
Step Five: Get his remote. It's magical. It's the power that keeps him alive.
* The vampire has ten mysteries, so look everywhere.

There you go. You'll be safe whenever you encounter your next vampire!

A Day at the Zoo

The day after Aunt Jody's birthday, we went to the zoo with our cousins. It was a fun day and Katie loved having playmates there.

While we waited for everyone to come in, we watched the mountain goat. It was more active than we've ever seen it.

Of course, I had to get a picture on the statue.

Garyldine thought it looked like so much fun that she joined me!

The black bears were hanging out all over the place!

We had fun watching another one walk around.

I've always loved the black bears.

I got to ride in the wagon with Bailey. Her mom, Ashley, was nice enough to drag us around everywhere!

We loved going on the carousel!

Afterward, the monkeys entertained us!

Partway through the zoo, we stopped for lunch. Yum!

Bailey and I were excited to find the giraffes.

They're always my favorite!

Eventually Andrew joined us in the wagon too!

It was so exciting to have the cheetah walk right in front of us!

We enjoyed friend time when we took a small rest.

Then I did some posing. It's a fun way to pass the time.

Before we left, I introduced Bailey to my favorite squirrel.

The last thing we did was to stop at the gift store. Garyldine bought me this pink seal that I promptly named Ayla. Thanks for the fun day!

Happy Birthday, Aunt Jody!

Garyldine invited us to Aunt Jody's birthday dinner. Katie was so excited to celebrate her special day.

While we were waiting for dinner, Garyldine gave me a fake mustache!

I looked so good that I added a second one.

After dinner, my visiting cousins and I put the candles in the cake.

Then I helped Aunt Jody open her gifts.

After our good gifts, we gave her our joke gift.

They were rattlesnake coffee cups with the head of the rattle snake inside the cups.

It was pretty funny to see her reaction!

There were two cups, so she shared with Garyldine.

Thanks for letting me celebrate with you!

Enjoying a Book

Katie's school sent me this picture of her during her school day. I loved it!

I enjoy spending time with a good book!

A Play-Doh Pony

When Katie was out with Garyldine, Garyldine bought her a Play-Doh My Little Pony set. Needless to say, Katie was excited. She got even more excited when she taught herself how to make a rainbow mane.

I love play-doh! Thank you, Garyldine!

Choreographing a Dance

Just like so many little girls, Katie loves to pretend she's Elsa, the ice queen. She acts out scenes from Frozen, but she also creates new scenes. On this day, she was making up a new dance for Elsa, in which she could use her ice powers. I filmed it in slow motion to capture all of her ice power moves.

It's fun to choreograph!
