Red Thread...

There is an ancient Chinese belief which states that there is an invisible red thread that connects each of us to all of the individuals who have been, currently are, and will in the future be important to us in our lives.

This red thread can stretch, twist, and bend… but will never break.

One More Gotcha Day Gift

Katie was so excited to receive a package in the mail and she was even more excited when she realized it was a Gotcha Day gift from my friends, Noreen and Joe!

I was so happy when I got a gift in the mail!

I always like to read the card before I open the present.

 It was a new book!

I like to read my books at night, and I kept asking my mom why she was taking pictures of me!

I kept catching her with her camera!

Eventually, I just let her take some pictures!

Thank you for my book! I love it!

Waiting, Watching, and Dreaming

When Katie gets to her dancing studio, she loves to jump up on the bench and watch the dancers in the class before hers while she waits to go in herself.

I can't wait for my turn!

Before Going to Bed

Not only does Katie want a bedtime story before she goes to bed, but she has let me know that her dolls also need a bedtime story before she goes to bed.

Sometimes it's hard to see the words when I hold a book like a teacher.

We all love stories in our house!

Dancing and Dancing

Katie still loves to dance. She dances in the morning, at night, and in between. She dances in the house, outside, and down the grocery store aisles. I don't think there is anything she doesn't love about it. One of her favorite parts of dancing is her dancing teacher. Although she has had several teachers over the years, Ms. Moriah has been her teacher most of the time, and Katie works so hard to keep up with her during class. She wants to be just like Ms. Moriah.

My favorite times are when Ms. Moriah stands right next to me.

Sometimes she lets us try our taps on our own to see how we do.

I think everyone in the world should take dancing,...

…especially if you get Ms. Moriah as a teacher!

This is one of the things I had to work on for awhile to do as quickly as my teacher. I'm almost there!

Recipe #152

Katie is still on a mission to be a fantastic cook. She doesn't want to use a cookbook for greatness. She wants to create her own recipes.  She has lots of great thoughts, but so far the taste of her recipes don't quite add up to the great thoughts.

First, I made my own recipe. Hershey kiss, Skippy, flour, eggs, sugar, chocolate, bananas, microwave.

I mixed everything together, but I decided to skip the microwave step.

I was so excited to try it!

Hmmm...

Jackpot!

I thought my recipe could make me world-famous!

Score!

Then I got a bite with a little too much flour!

Ugg!

I thought I was going to die!

That recipe is now a great big no! Onto my next one!

Moving

Katie was playing in her socks when she discovered a new way to move across the floor.

This is so much better than just walking!

Working with Numbers

I had bought a number chart for school but had not yet taken it there when Katie found it. She was so excited to spread the chart out and start playing games with it.

My mom covered up some of the numbers on the chart, and I had to guess what was under the covers.

After guessing, I would check my answers. It was fun!

Everyone should have a big number chart!
