A Slide?

When Katie was little, my sister, Jennifer, used to make a slide for Katie out of the living room furniture. The other night, Katie decided to recreate the slide. She has grown a little since she used the slide last.

Somehow this slide used to be a lot bigger! 

It's pretty easy to climb up to the top now. 

It's not much of a slide down though! 

The Great Blue Heron

We have been seeing a large bird close to our house that we think we have determined to be a Great Blue Heron. Katie loves to see it. One day, we snuck over to where it was standing and tried to get a picture, but right as we got there, it flew away. Our only picture was a not-very-good picture of it flying through the air. We'll keep searching for it to see if we can ever get a better picture.

It still looks big as it flies by the trees, but I really want a better picture of it.

A Beautiful Day at the Beach

When Spring Break hit, we decided to head to the beach. It was such a pretty day there!

It was a long trip to the beach, but as soon as we arrived, I told Aunt Jennifer that the drive was worth it! 

I always try to remember to bring my tools for building sandcastles. 

While my mom and Aunt Jennifer took the dogs for a walk, I stayed with Grandma and looked for shells. 

Then when they came back, I went and got a bucket of water with Aunt Jennifer,... 

...then I added lots of sand to the water bucket.

When we dumped the bucket, my castle didn't look quite the way I expected it to look, but it was fine. 

I decided to focus on my shell collecting instead. 

I searched all over our small piece of beach to find the best shells. 

 The dogs always wanted to go shell searching too.

I wore my rain boots to the beach so I could travel into the shallow water to look for the untouched shells. 

After awhile, Aunt Jennifer took Sadie to rest while I walked Bailey and Sophie. 

I love the beach! 

I'm so glad we came! 

After all of our fun, we were ready to go home!

Making It Herself

Katie had a sleepover to celebrate a friend's birthday, and her friend received a slime kit for a present. When Katie got home, she was inspired to get her own slime kit and make some slime all on her own.

My slime kit had all sorts of things that I could choose to add to my slime. 

I decided to add the little bit of orange coloring that I had left. 

First I stir everything with the stir stick. 

Then I finish stirring with my hands. The slime was perfect! 

Dominoes

Katie really wanted some dominoes, so she started pricing them at stores, found the cheapest set she could find, and gathered her own money to buy some. She had seen someone setting up dominoes in a path and knocking them over, and she wanted to try it. She has had so much fun!

I loved creating my own domino paths. 

It took patience, but it was all worth it!

Some of my paths fell in one fall, and others did not.
