A New Fish

Katie's Betta fish, Mozart, died right before Easter, so we decided to get a new one. Katie named her new fish Jefferson, and she agreed to let me take the fish to school for a little while. We were going to set up the aquarium at school with my students, so we had to give Jefferson a temporary home.

Jefferson's temporary, one-night home was this water pitcher! 

He stayed pretty happy in here though! 

However, he was even happier when his aquarium got set up!

Getting the House Painted

We recently had the inside of our house painted, and for the week that the painters were here, we didn't have much of a house to live in. Katie was pretty excited about all of it though.

Who needs a place to sit?

Busy

Katie is always making plans of some sort or other, and I often catch her in this position while she's planning.

Sometimes you just need a quiet space and some paper to make a good plan!

Designing and Building

Katie loves to use the wooden blocks at school when she's waiting for me to get done with my work.

I borrowed the animals and made houses for them!

Homemade Popsicles

Katie decided to give homemade popsicles another go. She didn't have any sort of juice, so she decided to make her popsicles out of water and grapes. She was so excited!

 My popsicles were ready to go in the freezer!

Grandma was excited to try them with me. 

They weren't the sweetest popsicles, but since I like ice cubes, they were perfect for me! 

Funny Girl

One night Katie was playing with her hair bands and her stuffed animal. As she held the bands up to her cat, she said, "Look! It's Kitty Potter!"

As soon as I held these hair bands on my cat,... 

...I thought she looked so much like Harry Potter!

Curly Hair

Katie loves the curly hair she gets after having braids. She thinks she looks just like Aunt Jennifer!

I never want to wash my hair when I have curls!
