Comic Book Author

After reading quite a few comic books and graphic novels, Katie decided she wanted to write a comic book series. She put together her book, and was so proud of it.

My comic book series is all about Detective Nia!

A Walk by the River

A couple of weeks ago, we decided to go for a walk along the river and through a wildlife refuge area. It was a beautiful area!

One of the first things we found were these beautiful wild flowers! 

Back behind me was some protected area for birds, and the river was behind that. 

Even though it was a cloudy day, it was warm - especially when I'd run! 

Every once in a while, I'd find a place to rest. 

As I rested, I kept my eyes open for birds. 

We didn't see a lot of wildlife, but it was still pretty. 

My lesson I learned on this walk was to take water and a snack! Bye, river! 

Dance Pictures

We received Katie's individual dance pictures. She looks so grown up!

Celebratory Flowers

After Katie's dance recital, she received flowers to celebrate her work. My sister, Jennifer, was nice enough to keep them at her house, so the cats wouldn't eat them at ours!

I love getting flowers! They were all so pretty!

The Recital

Katie loves to dance in her recitals, but another reason she loves her recitals is that she gets to spend time with friends backstage while she waits to dance.

We make up lots of games that we can play together! 

We had to keep track of these newspapers because they were part of our dance. 

Our teacher printed out a picture of us, so it would be on the front of our newspapers! 

One of our favorite things to do backstage is to color! 

Of course, we have time to talk while we color!

Dance Recital Dress Rehearsal

Katie is always so excited for everything connected to her dance recital. The night before the recital, she went to the dress rehearsal.

All I had left to do was dance!

A Fort

Katie built a fort for herself and the cats. She had so much fun spending the whole afternoon in her blanket-covered fort. It wasn't until she came out that we realized it wasn't a good idea to spend her day sharing such a small space with cats because it made her allergies terrible. She spent the rest of the afternoon stuffy and sneezing.

My cat allergies don't usually bother me unless I'm in a closed up space with them. I think my time with the cats is a good trade off for some sneezing though!
