A Wild Blackberry Pie

Katie wanted to try to make a pie out of the berries we picked, so we looked up a recipe and took a stab at it.

My mom and I worked on the filling, while Grandma worked on the crust.

We have fun when we cook together!

When the pie got done, I decided to try a bite. First I had to cool it off.

I decided that I liked the fresh berries better, but it was fun to bake a pie!

Just One Flower

When Katie got inside, she wanted to use just one of her daisies to put in her hair. 

It made me happy to have a flower in my hair.

Flowers and Berries

Sometimes while I pick blackberries, Katie picks flowers because they make her happy! She also prefers to do the flower picking because there are no thorns involved with the flowers.

I found some daisies close to the blackberries.

The fact that they were in the shade made them even better.

They're such happy flowers!

A Daily Routine

Now that our blackberries are ripe, it's an almost daily routine to go pluck the juiciest of them as a refreshing treat for the day.

I saved this mesh bag from my knee pads. It's the perfect berry collector!

Lots of Caterpillars

Katie loves when it's time to gather blackberries. Mostly, she loves it because the berries are yummy, but she also loves it because she always finds a ton of caterpillars munching on the greenery around the berries.

Finding the Shade

Katie loves to find the shade on hot days!

I'm so thankful for trees that give me shade!

Another Monopoly Game

Katie loves to play Monopoly, so when my sister offered to play a game with her, she gladly accepted!
