Red Thread...

There is an ancient Chinese belief which states that there is an invisible red thread that connects each of us to all of the individuals who have been, currently are, and will in the future be important to us in our lives.

This red thread can stretch, twist, and bend… but will never break.

Band in a Box

Since Katie enjoys music so much, I bought her a "Band in a Box" to play with. After trying all of the instruments, she determined that the triangle was her favorite. She wanted to share the fun music with Chloe, but Chloe didn't find it quite as fun!

Look at my new box of music!

What else is in here?

I found the things that go together!

I'll play some music for you, Chloe.

Why did she run away from my concert?

A New Toy

Katie got a little trampoline since she has been trying to jump. She doesn't quite have the routine of jumping down yet, so her trampoline might help. She has been enjoying it all day, and it's good for any excess energy!

Learning to Jump

Are you sure I put my hands on this bar?

I can run in place!

This is fun!

I better take a break.

It's even a comfortable bed!

Mmmm…Bananas!

Katie LOVES bananas right now. She has known the sign language for banana for awhile, and it comes in really handy when she wants to ask for a banana. The only problem with bananas is that they are so messy for her to eat. Anyone who knows me, knows that I like things to be neat and tidy, so I just have to take a deep breath while she eats them and know that she's having fun exploring her food. The other night, she made such a mess of herself that she just had to go straight to the bathtub after dinner!

Liking the Spoon a Little More Each Day

But Hands are Still So Much Faster!

I don't want a bath. I'd rather spit bananas at your camera!

Fun in the Kitchen

As I've written before, Katie really likes to empty all of the food from the kitchen cupboards. The other day, she had a great idea to have fun with the food!

I have a plan in my head, Winnie!

First, I'll empty a lot of the food out of the cupboard.

Wow! These cans stack like my blocks!

It's getting taller.

Taller still!

Who needs toys when there are groceries in the house?

Surrounded By Favorite Things

What could be better than being surrounded by your favorite things?

I've got my car, my chair, my spoon, my mom's camera charger, my play dog (Violet), and my real dog (Chloe). Who could need anything else?

A Painting Weekend

This weekend, Jennifer and I worked on painting my parents' house.  As one might imagine, Katie isn't a huge help with painting, so one of us (Jennifer, my mom, or me) was on Katie patrol while the others painted. A lot of the time, Katie was in the bedroom with whoever was watching her. She had fun playing, but she didn't get as much time to run around as she does on a typical day. She was pretty patient with us all weekend, but she was always really happy to be home and had an overabundance of energy when she could finally run free.

Day One

I just got to Grandma's, and I already found two drawers to empty!

I love this computer desk! What a fun house!

I think I'll try to call someone on the iPod.

Got my goods! Now I'm ready to go home.

Oh my gosh! I found someone who looks like me!

Do you see this?

This is what a 21-month old looks like after being stuck in a room all day!
My hair got a little messed up as I tried on necklaces from Grandma's jewelry box!

Day Two

I wish I could play with Chloe instead of being in a bedroom all day!

Where's the paint? I want to help!

I finally got lunch, and I'm happy about it!

Rice noodles are yummy!

Resting after a long weekend

Visiting Garyldine

Katie was at Garyldine's awhile ago, and ended up playing by the dog bed.

Is that my toy in Sammy's bed?

I'll just retrieve my toy before Sammy takes it.

Actually, this bed looks pretty comfortable! I wonder if I'll fit!
