Red Thread...

There is an ancient Chinese belief which states that there is an invisible red thread that connects each of us to all of the individuals who have been, currently are, and will in the future be important to us in our lives.

This red thread can stretch, twist, and bend… but will never break.

Bear Fun Continues

Katie has continued to treat her new bears as babies and friends. Here are some recent pictures.

I'll brush you out, so you look nice.

Maybe you need a little water to help control your fur!

Would you like some lotion?

Aunt Jennifer will help me get a diaper on you!

I'll share my food with you.

I think he ate it!

Aunt Jennifer always lets me use her iPhone.

Here. You can talk for awhile!

Would you like a kiss?

How about a hug?

I won't forget food for you.
(Katie has been decorating her bears with her Sesame Street stickers.)

I'll take your stickers off. I think they're distracting you from eating.

You have to open your mouth like this.

Here's some string cheese. It's delicious!

Okay, I'll help you eat it.

If you're not going to eat, I'm going to put the stickers back on you.

I love you! Kiss, kiss!

Goodbye for Now, Blackberries!

While Katie was out rock hunting by our house, she of course noticed we were next to the blackberry bushes. Ever since I took her blackberry picking, she remembers that yummy food came off of those bushes. Whenever we walk by them, she points in their direction and says "Num, num," which is her way of saying "Yum, yum."

As I took a closer look at the berries she pointed to, I saw that most of them have dried up.  Luckily, I found a couple to share with Katie.

I see blackberries!

 Num, num!

The blackberries are looking a little sad.

My mom found one for me though. Num, num!

Katie's Birthday Continues

Just when we thought Katie had finished her birthday celebration, she got a box in the mail from Aunt Debby. Katie had lots of fun discovering what was in the box. It provided lots of entertainment!

Hmmm…where should I start?

A new book! I love new books!

My new bear loves to wear my bib, so I can feed him!

Let's just cuddle!

When I read to you, it's your job to listen.

Rock hunting in my new dress!

Aunt Jennifer's Gift

Jennifer waited until a week after Katie's birthday to give her the birthday present she chose. It gave Katie time to get used to her other presents, and then when she received Jennifer's gift, it was like a bonus.  She received her own personal tunnel to crawl through, and to make it even better, it came with butterfly doors that can go on or stay off. Katie was thrilled!

As much as she likes to crawl through her new tunnel though, she almost likes it better to stand up inside the tunnel. She likes when someone pushing the springs up and down on the tunnel while she stands inside. Whenever anyone does that, she starts jumping. She probably thinks she's jumping all the way out the top of the tunnel.

She also likes for someone (Aunt Jennifer) to hold the tunnel vertically a little bit off the floor, so she can walk through the house covered by her tunnel.   She was pretty happy with her bonus gift!

You mean I get another birthday gift?

You can try it next, Chloe!

It's a surprise visitor!

You're funny, Bingle!

I see you coming, Chloe!

Wait a minute. How did you just zip past me?

I have to help my polar bear make it through.

Time to rest!

Can I stand this thing up myself?

Luckily, Aunt Jennifer will always help me!

Hey, where did everyone go?

No one will ever know where I am!

My First Sticker Book

Katie has enjoyed stickers in the past. She doesn't really know what to do with them, but she has a lot of fun peeling stickers off the paper. I decided to get her a book with pages where the stickers can go on and come back off. She had fun taking the stickers out of the book, but she didn't really use the pages in the book for her stickers.

I wonder what this book is.

These pages are really slick!

Look at all of these stickers!

I'll try putting my sticker on this page.

Actually the stickers look better on my shirt!

I found a new canvas for my stickers!

I'm pushing down all of the corners of the stickers, so nothing is sticking up.
I like things to look neat and tidy. Aunt Jennifer blames it on me being a Virgo like my mom.

Perfect! That's way better than using the book!

How Many More Hot Days of Summer are Left?

Now that September is halfway through, we find ourselves trying to take advantage of the hot days that we have left. Last weekend, we had one nice day where I thought it would be warm enough for Katie to use her swimming pool. She helped me fill it up in the morning, so the water could warm up, and then she patiently waited to go wading in the water.

That water is cold!

I love to be out in the fresh air!

That looks pretty enticing.

Can I get in right now?

I brought my tortilla chip with me even though my mom didn't think it was a good idea.

Wait a minute…I don't think my mom's foot belongs on my pool.

Did my tortilla chip just get soaked?

Uh-oh! It did!

No problem. It still looks good enough to eat!

I've just gotta stand up and dance!

Did you know there were seahorses on the bottom of my pool?

It's always fun to flap my arms like I'm flying!
