A Favorite Summer Routine

This summer, Katie developed a new routine. She loved to take her lunch out on the deck to eat. It was the perfect time to relax, look for animals, admire the trees, sing with the birds, play with the dogs, etc. It was one of her favorite times of the day.

A Tasty, Summer Treat

Katie was so happy when our tomatoes started ripening. Every day was a chance for discovering a yummy treat!

I look for red tomatoes every day when we water the plants. 

I love to pick them. It's easy! 

I wonder if anyone can tell that I put a tomato in my mouth before my mom could take a picture.

A New Box

When we were unpacking a new carpet cleaner, Katie happily claimed the box and the packing material. She had plans for it right away.

Bailey was really interested in my new box. 

Who was in there? 

It was just me saying hello from my new house. 

I decided to add this small box to the top of my house for my mailbox. When I came out of my box again, I found a letter from Grandma. I loved it! 

While everyone else was busy cleaning, I had a sleepover with Bailey. I pulled my house to her kennel, and I "slept" in my house while Bailey slept in hers. It was fun!

A New Play Spot

After getting trapped in the dog kennel a while back, Katie decided it was a rather fun place to play. In her mind, it's a tent in the middle of the woods.

The dogs eyes were glowing with excitement while we were camping in the woods!

Magazine Subscriptions

Katie has several magazine subscriptions, and they are so worth the money. First, she loves to get something in the mail that's just for her. Second, she loves to have someone read them to her over and over. Third, she loves the activities in the magazines. It's one of my favorite things she has.

After I read the stories in my magazine, I like to do the activities. 

I was very proud of my coloring on this picture. I had to show everyone!

A Morning with the Dogs

One morning, Katie wanted to do something special with the dogs. She realized that she had not yet had a tea party with them like she used to do with Chloe. Unlike Chloe who politely drank out of her tea cups, the puppies spilled water all over the place. Katie had fun though!

I told Sophie to get ready for something special. 

After the dogs spilled all of their "tea," I let them start drinking out of bowls and pans. 

They did better that way, but they still spilled water. They weren't as dignified as Chloe. 

Since they couldn't use tea cups, I used the tea cups as an instrument to entertain my guests.

A Birthday Card

Katie was so excited to get a birthday card in the mailbox from Aunt Lois!

Thanks for my card! I thought it was the cutest thing ever!
