Red Thread...

There is an ancient Chinese belief which states that there is an invisible red thread that connects each of us to all of the individuals who have been, currently are, and will in the future be important to us in our lives.

This red thread can stretch, twist, and bend… but will never break.

First Day at Garyldine's House

While my mom was out of the country, Katie spent some of her days over at Garyldine's house until I was through with my work day. Not surprisingly, Katie enjoyed every day there.

It's always fun to go to Garyldine's house.

Aunt Jody likes to join in our fun too!

Aunt Jody made me these cute pancakes to eat.

Yum!

Garyldine and I also got to play with Play-Doh!

Staying Busy

Katie stayed busy at home while we kept in touch with my mom and sister in London. She missed them all the time, but she put a smile on her face anyway.

I had inspiration to build my own tall structure after I saw...

…Grandma standing at Westminster Abbey.

I thought mine could compete!

I was really happy to find the cake pop that Grandma had left for me! Yum!

I was a big helper with the dogs. Sadie is strong, but so am I!

In the evening, I did my make-up and my mom's.

I had a good time and looked beautiful!

Counting Down the Days

While our family was gone, I made a countdown calendar for Katie to try to help organize her mind around the time left before everyone came home. It helped her keep track of what was going on and where she was spending her time. She also loved being able to cross off a day at the end of the day and counting how many days were left before everyone was back.

One day done…seven more to go!

An Interpretation of Olaf

On the day that my mom and sister left for London, Katie tried to keep her mind on other things. One thing that helped her do that was Play-Doh. She was very proud when she created her own Olaf.

Olaf is Grandma's favorite, so I wanted to make my own Olaf!

I was happy with how it turned out!

Have a Good Trip!

At the end of September, my mom and sister took a trip to England. As you might imagine, Katie was a little anxious about them leaving for over a week, but she handled it well. She was glad to get to go to the airport to drop them off and have a chance to say good-bye.

Bye, Aunt Jennifer!

Have a good trip, Grandma!

Ready to Go

We had to go out one morning to run some errands. I thought Katie was ready, but she had to go back to her room to add some accessories to her outfit.

I just needed to add my wings, earmuffs, and a fairy jewelry box. I'd be a little boring without my accessories!

Blood Moon Eclipse

A few weeks ago when we had the Blood Moon Eclipse, we took Katie out to observe what was happening. We tried to explain what an eclipse was. Katie didn't fully understand the eclipse, but she was happy to see the big moon.

I found the moon!

 It was huge!
