Finger Painting

Katie had her first experience with finger painting recently. She's had opportunities before to try it, but she never wanted to get her fingers dirty. This time she was ready, and she had so much fun!

When I first started, I wasn't sure what I wanted to paint. 

I just started with some dots. 

Sometimes it's fun to get your hands dirty! 

In the end, I created this masterpiece!

Just Relaxing

Last weekend, Katie decided to have some long mornings in her pajamas. One of those mornings, she decided to watch a movie while relaxing in her favorite chair.

Nothing like a slow Sunday morning.

A Work of Art

Katie loved doing this art project at school. She was so proud of the end result!

I tried to make my trees colorful like the ones in my neighborhood.

The Jack-o-Lanterns

This year, Katie made two jack-o-lanterns. The first one was done completely on her own. She asked for a small, white pumpkin at the grocery store, and she just used a Sharpie to draw faces around the pumpkin. She was able to fit four faces - one on each side of the pumpkin.

For the second jack-o-lantern, Katie wanted to carve one of the pumpkins from the pumpkin patch. She chose to have an owl pattern on it.

This was my Jack-o-lantern that I made all by myself. I loved it!

 Here was the pumpkin I chose to carve.

I wanted to help with the carving. 

It was a little harder than I anticipated. 

I got the top off and saw lots of seeds and pulp inside! 

I had to scoop and scoop. 

This was also harder than I thought. 

I thought it would come out easier, but I had to scrape the sides a lot. 

After we traced our stencil on the pumpkin, we started to carve it out. 

After a lot of work, we were done. 

I thought it looked good at night!

Halloween Mail

Katie always loves it when she gets mail!

Post Trick-or-Treating

Just like most every kid does, one of the first things Katie always does when she gets home from trick-or-treating is to organize her candy.

I didn't have a whole lot of organizing time on Halloween night, but I definitely separated my good candy from the candy I would give to others! 

When I spread my candy out the next day, I couldn't believe how much I had!

Halloween, 2018!

This year, Katie decided to dress up as Princess Anna from Olaf's Frozen Adventure. She loved the costume, and. I was glad it was a little warmer than most of her costumes have been.

Halloween fell on an Early Release Day at school this year. My mom and Garyldine picked Katie up from school, took her to dancing, and then started their trick-or-treating. As in previous years, Katie met up with her friend, Ella, to enjoy the festivities.

 I loved dressing up as Anna this year!

Right after dancing, we started our trick-or-treating. 

The first house we went to was Grandma's neighbor's house. 

He always puts out lots of decorations!

After that, we went to Ella's house. I loved her unicorn costume! 

Her brother, Lucas, got dressed up to come too! 

Then it was time to start visiting houses! 

I love spending this day with Ella!

Even though it was wet, we were all having fun! 

 We collected lots of treats!

I was shocked at the amount of decorations at some of the houses! 

 When we got done, we found Jim at his neighbor's house!

 While the adults talked, I played with their cute cats!
