It was good to be back in my tap shoes again!
Red Thread...
There is an ancient Chinese belief which states that there is an invisible red thread that connects each of us to all of the individuals who have been, currently are, and will in the future be important to us in our lives.
This red thread can stretch, twist, and bend… but will never break.

4th of July Celebrations
Like I mentioned, we started our 4th of July celebrations with our neighborhood parade. Katie invited Kai to join her, and they rode their scooters through the parade. When we made it to the park, they ate a snack and played some games.
Katie decided in the evening that she would rather stay home and watch some fireworks on TV instead of going somewhere since we were taking care of the dogs. When they are at Jennifer's house, they are surrounded by firework noises which scare them all night. The sounds at our house are a lot quieter, so they spent the night with us.

Kai and I waited in the crowd for the parade to begin.
We were ready to go!
Off to the park!
One of our favorite treats on the hot day were the otter pops. After we cooled off, we had a hot dog and chips and took some popcorn home!
We decided to take part in the tug-o-war game. We didn't win, but we had fun!
After the fun in the park, we rode our scooters home.
At night, the dogs came to spend the night. They wondered why they weren't home.
I had fun giving them all attention though!

Waiting for the Parade
We usually start our 4th of July with our neighborhood kid parade that ends in the park. Katie invited Kai to join her, and she was so excited that it made the wait extra long for her. Good thing she had General Washington to help pass the time!
I asked to wear curls in my hair for the parade!

Fun with Kai
Recently Kai invited Katie to go to the Farmer's Market with him, and she had so much fun!
First, Kai and I got to play a game. When we got done, we got a token that we could spend at the Farmer's Market.
We put our tokens together and bought some raspberries.
They were delicious!
After we had our raspberries, Kathy got us a snack. Yum!
There was a pie-eating contest for kids. By the time I got my mouth to the mini-pie, someone had already won.
I always have fun with Kai!
I wish I could see him every day!
Thanks for inviting me!

Admiring the Choices
When Katie got her ears pierced, she was able to choose some earrings to wear once she can remove the original piercing earrings. She loves them to say the least!
I spend a lot of time looking at my earrings and trying to figure out which ones to wear first!

Pierced Ears
After Katie had a play date with a friend with pierced ears and checking out all of her fun earrings, she decided it was time for her to pierce her ears. She thought about it for a couple of days, but decided that piercing was the right thing for her!
This was the longest part...just waiting for the process to begin.
First, the girl had to mark my ears, so she would know where to pierce.
And just like that, it was done! Easy!
I chose the pink daisies as my first earrings! I loved them!
