Red Thread...

There is an ancient Chinese belief which states that there is an invisible red thread that connects each of us to all of the individuals who have been, currently are, and will in the future be important to us in our lives.

This red thread can stretch, twist, and bend… but will never break.

Slime, Slime, Slime

Katie will always take the chance to make slime.

I decided to put my slime. on the cutting mat, so...

...it would be easier to add the Styrofoam balls.

I love slime!

Feeling Good

Katie got on SnapChat one night and found a filter that made her feel so good. As soon as she saw it, she felt vey happy to have her culture recognized.

I was happy when I saw this filter!

A Chinese Meal

After getting Katie's pictures taken, we went out for a Chinese meal.

Aunt Jennifer made me try a dumpling, so I tried a bite. Everyone else liked them, but I stuck with the sticky rice for my meal!

Seeing Cameron

Katie had her Gotcha Day photos taken by Cameron again. She always looks forward to spending time with him and laughing.

Sometimes we take our pictures inside, and sometimes we head out with the flowers!

Heels

We had to go find some shoes for Katie's Gotcha Day pictures, and as soon as she saw the shoes with a bit of a heel, she knew those were for her! She was in love...so much so that she wouldn't stop wearing them even after she got her pajamas on.

I didn't want to take my shoes off!

Another Gotcha Day Gift

My friend, Noreen, also sent Katie a gift to celebrate her Gotcha Day, and Katie couldn't have been happier!

The first thing I found were these two books that I was so excited about!

I always make sure to read the card! Thank you, Grammy Noreen and Grandpa Joe!

After that, I found a note in each of my books!

Soon after this, I started my books and loved them!

A Gotcha Day Surprise

After Katie had gone to her dance class on Gotcha Day, she got a card from Garyldine, Jim, and Aunt Jody to celebrate her day. She was so happy!

It was nice just to get the card, but then I found some money to go shopping! Thank you!

A Gotcha Day Selfie

Like Katie's birthday, Katie's Gotcha Day always is at one of the busiest times of the school year. We make do, and we find time to celebrate, but sometimes we have to squeeze in a quick picture to mark the day.

We got a quick photo before school started!

Everything Old is New Again

A couple of weeks ago, my sister, Jennifer, decided to hook up her old Nintendo. Katie was so excited to see and play the games that went with it.

I had to focus to learn how to play this old game.

I thought the picture looked so different than my games.

A Trip to the Farmer's Market

We love to go to the Farmer's Market, and a couple of weeks ago, we went for the first time this season. Katie was so excited to find some giant apples.

I couldn't believe my luck to find giant apples!

As soon as I had a moment, I shined the apple on my clothes and started eating it.
It was delicious, and then a bee started chasing me, and my apple ended up on the ground.

A Play Date at the Zoo

Katie was so happy to get to go to the zoo with Kai!

The bears were very active. I thought it was cute to watch this bear playing with his bag.

He looked like he was very happy. The other bear was also playing with a bag.

I got to ride on the horse with Kai!

We got to see some cute goats and pet them. The goat we petted was soft, and I wanted to pet him forever.

The African Painted Dogs were very cool.

I really liked the cheetah because they were resting, which made it easy to see.

Their fur had a pretty pattern.

After looking at the cheetahs, I got to drive the car.

Kai and I also got to see the small animals close-up by going in the bubble.

The porcupine looked pretty cute. He had beautiful spikes!

I got to sit on this little rock animal.

It was fun hanging out on these statues.

Kai and I decided to take a little rest.

We were playing with some of the toys I packed.

 It was a fun day!

Sparkly Sunglasses

Katie got a book that contained press-on sparkles for decorating objects. She decided to add sparkles to her sunglasses.

When I got done, I told my mom that I "Randy Rainbow-ed" my glasses!

A Stop at the Park

When Katie comes out for a walk, it's almost always a must to stop at the park on the way home.

Of course it's always relaxing to go on the swings!

After I played on everything else, I tried steering the ship home!

A Lunch Out

After visiting the Lilac Festival, we took Katie out to lunch. She always loves eating in a restaurant!

We thought Mexican food would be perfect for the day!

The Lilac Festival

A couple of weekends ago, we had beautiful weather here. We decided to go to our local Lilac Festival, so my sister, Jennifer, could choose some lilacs for her house. Katie had so much fun determining which flowers smelled the best!

As soon as we walked onto the property, we started seeing beautiful plants and flowers.

We had to smell all of the different types of lilacs to determine which smelled the best.

Grandma helped too!

I liked the tunnel that went through the middle of these bushes.

It was so nice just to be out enjoying the beautiful weather!

The flowers didn't just smell good. They were pretty too!

Once we chose the best smelling lilacs, we grabbed a wagon and started looking for some to buy. It was a lot of fun!

Kitties

Katie loves her cats!

I love weekend mornings when I can spend quality time with the cats!

I try to give both cats equal attention, and they keep my hands full!

Mother's Day Planting

Katie and I continued with our Mother's Day tradition. We planted our flowers out in front of the house.

I chose to plant marigolds this year. Hopefully the rabbits won't like them as much as the other flowers!

I help a little bit more every year.

It was a little harder to dig this year because our weather has been so dry.

I was a good worker, but every time I saw a bug, I took a little break until it crawled away!

When we got done planting, I watered the flowers.

All done! Happy Mother's Day!
