Taking My Toys on a Drive

Katie has discovered recently how much fun it is to drive her stuffed animals and dolls around in her cars.

My lion likes to drive around in the car all by himself. 

Anna and Elsa like to pack a picnic in the back seat before they take off on their drive!

Entertaining Max

Katie loves that my mom's dog, Max, has been spending time at our house. She thinks it's her job to teach him all about our house and to entertain him.

I like to put Max on his leash to keep him close to me.

I'm teaching him to listen to my books. 

Sometimes we play dolls together. 

He likes it when I let him sleep on the dog bed. 

Max's favorite thing is to listen to the song that plays with my Cinderella costume. He loves music just like me!

Planning a Wedding

Katie is very interested in weddings and has been for awhile. She has been trying to marry her friend, Kai, for quite some time. According to her, Kai asked her to get married, and she wants to marry him because "he's my best friend." About a week ago, Katie was determined that it was her wedding day. She dressed herself up for the big day and was ready to get married.

I surprised my mom with my wedding attire. I put flowers in my hair and became a fairy. 

After I get married, I'm going to play trains with Kai. 

My mom made me put on real clothes, so I chose a dress with a lot of white on it. Then I added my necklace and Cinderella slippers. 

Out of everything I did to prepare, I was the most proud of my flowers in my hair! They were beautiful!

Scratch Art

Awhile back, Kai had given Katie some scratch art. Katie decided to get it out the other day and have fun with it.

First, I drew a picture. 

Then I practiced my letters. I love scratch art!

Helping to Clean

Jennifer recently bought Katie her own set of cleaning tools, and she loves to help me clean with her new toys!

A Bedtime Routine

Over the past several months, Katie's bedtime routine has gotten very long. She wants to hear a Frozen book every night, but instead of sitting by me to listen, she listens from across the room and acts out the entire book complete with costumes. When we get done with the first reading, Katie asks to hear a few of the songs from the movie, so she can sing and dance along.

After that, Katie takes the book on the floor and leans against my bed pillows and reads the story herself. She calls that space her "Frozen library."

Finally, when she's finished, she sits next to me for a different story. Then she's ready for bed.  It's one of her favorite times of the day.

Don't get too close. Ice might shoot from my hands! 

I've gotten pretty good at acting out my favorite story. 

My Frozen Library is a very comfortable spot to read. 

I use it every night!

This is when I was playing both Anna and Elsa's parts and getting used to my cape at the same time!

Sometimes when I'm lucky, I get to sing along with the music too!

A Sleeping Position

Sometimes Katie sleeps in very interesting positions.

Something to Sleep With

Katie always likes to have a toy to keep her company while she sleeps. Sometimes she gets very close to her toys!

Going to a Play

I took Katie to a local production of the musical, Cinderella. She was excited to see the show, but even more excited to have a program for the show. Since going, she has talked about the experience a lot.

I got to see a play, and it came with its very own "book!"

Princess Max

My mom's dog, Max, has been spending some time at our house. Katie thought she was so nice one night when she found a princess crown for him.

I think Max makes a beautiful princess!

Princess "Lipstick"

Katie received some princess lip gloss in her Christmas stocking this year. She refers to it as her "sparkly princess lipstick," and she loves to put it on all by herself!

I feel just like a princess when I use my lipstick. 

It's important to spread it all over my lips and a little bit extra as well! 

I love my sparkles!

How Do I Look?

Katie has loved wearing her sunglasses in the house lately. She'll put them on and just sit back as if asking, "How do I look?"

First I put my sunglasses on just right. 

Then I wait for someone to notice me.

Ready for the Cold

Katie outgrew her warm winter coat, so she got one before Christmas. She always loved her new coat, but it got even better when Garyldine got her a hat and mittens to go with it!

I'm ready for the cold weather!

Packing Up Christmas

As much as Katie loves our Christmas decorations, she's always excited when it's time to put them away because it means her table gets to come back upstairs. So when I suggested taking down the tree, she was perfectly fine with the idea.

Katie helped me take a few of her favorite ornaments off the tree, but mostly, she chose to play with all of the decorations as they came down.

Bye, Elsa! I'll see you next year! 

I made up lots of stories as I played with the ornaments. I love to use my imagination! 

I thought these beads made perfect hair for my Barbie ornament. She looked like Rapunzel. 

I found my sheep in my nativity set and made them a meal. 

Then I read them a story.

Heavy

One night, I was waiting upstairs for Katie to come to bed. Jennifer texted a picture to me, so I could see what might be coming my way. I laughed when I saw it and wasn't too surprised when Katie put out a call for help halfway up the stairs. I was just surprised she made it that far on her own!

Come on, Panda Bear! I want to take you with me. 

Why are you laughing at me? 

He's a lot heavier than I thought he'd be. 

Will you please help me?

Making a Princess Breakfast

Katie was excited to use her princess cookbook that she got for Christmas last year to make French toast for the family. She always loves to cook.

 First, I got to tear up the bread. It smelled just like butter to me!

Then I got to mix the sweet stuff! 

My mom even trusted me to pour the milk in the eggs. 

It took a long time to stir them together. 

I thought my meal looked really good. Everyone liked it, but I didn't eat any myself. I'm pretty selective with my food.

The Wings

Katie takes any chance she can get to dress up. Who wouldn't want to have wings?

Barbie Hospital

Lately Katie has decided that it's fun to turn her Barbie camper into a Barbie hospital. She's pretty good at taking care of her dolls.

Anna and Elsa are the doctors, and they use my play doctor set. I turned the TV set into an x-ray machine. 

A lot of my dolls ended up with broken bones. Luckily, I could fix them!

Let's Go Shopping

My mom and I took Katie shopping one weekend. She's always ready for that!

A little Christmas shopping can always put a smile on my face!

A Visit to School

My school had a book fair back in November, and Katie came to peruse the books. She was excited to see some of her old friends.

When I got to school, I had to lead Aunt Jody around by this scarf. 

Then Grandma needed my help. 

Garyldine did too! 

I don't know why they don't know their way around like me. 

Before we left, I found the big girls, and we went shopping together. I always have fun with them!
