Red Thread...

There is an ancient Chinese belief which states that there is an invisible red thread that connects each of us to all of the individuals who have been, currently are, and will in the future be important to us in our lives.

This red thread can stretch, twist, and bend… but will never break.

Adding Details

Drawing makes Katie really happy. Lately, she has added more and more details to her pictures.

I decided to draw a picture of my seal that Garyldine gave me awhile ago!

The next morning, Katie woke up, put her hat on, and got ready to begin a new day!

I love my new hat!

Trying to Sleep

When Katie came home to sleep after car shopping, the dogs were very interested in her. First, they wanted to say hello after a long day alone. Second, they really wanted to know about the new hat on her head.

Sometimes a girl just wants her sleep.

I thought the dogs were done with me when Sadie found me!

Getting a Car

Jennifer, Katie, and I went out with my mom as she was looking for a car to buy. Katie was excited at first, but it's a long process. By the end of the night, she was still excited about the car but pretty tired of the wait.

When Grandma was signing the papers for her car, my mom and I found a toy room so I could play!

There weren't a lot of toys there, but at least it gave me something to do.

I tried to squeeze myself into this bus, but it was tight quarters.

When I got tired of the toys, I got some trail mix from the vending machine and watched Shrek on TV.

When I got home, I went straight to the couch and fell asleep.

When I woke up and got ready for bed, I got to go out to get a close-up view of Grandma's car.

A New Hat

When we went to the mall, Jennifer found some cute winter hats. As soon as Katie tried one on, I knew I'd have to get it for her. She fell in love with it the moment she put it on!

Who wouldn't want a hat that makes it look like your wearing a pink and white wolf?

Enjoying My Friend

There is a part of dancing class where one student gets to practice at a time. When it's not Katie's turn to be dancing, she likes to pass time with her friends.

Zoriah and I like to talk, play games, and look at the ballerina pictures on the wall! I love friends!

Waiting for Grandma to Get Her Hair Cut

Katie and I drove with my mom when she went to get her hair cut. While we waited, Katie let me know that Garyldine always takes her to Starbucks when she is there with her. I decided to walk her there, and Katie was pretty excited when she saw that Starbucks had holiday cake pops!

Why does a cake pop taste even better if it has a snowman face?

Not Giving Up

Katie is not letting go of the presidential election. She has definitely gone on with her regular life routines, but she still talks about Hillary Clinton almost every day.

I decided to start drafting another letter to Hillary Clinton even if she's not our next president. I hope she knows that I think she's brave and smart.

Presidents of the Past

Katie has decided to focus on presidents of the past for now.

Abraham Lincoln was known for making speeches. I wish I could have heard him!

A Science Experiment

After spilling a lot of her bubble solution on the deck, Katie announced that she wanted to do a science experiment. I let her know I was in full support, and I just sat back and watched her.

Step 1: Gather materials.

Step 2: Put warm water in a bowl.

Step 3: Stir the water.

Step 4: Have a rubber duck test the temperature of the water.

Step 5: After the rubber ducks tests the water as okay, test the water yourself to make sure it's the right temperature.

Step 6: Dump a little bit of bubble solution in the water.

Step 7: Stir.

Step 8: Spray water on the top of the water mixture.

Step 9: Stir with a bubble wand.

Step 10: See if your new solution makes bubbles. Mine almost did!

Step 11: Don't give up!

Step 12: Add more water!

Step 13: Put the water in a larger cup.

Step 14: Put the original mixture in the same cup as the new water.

Step 15: Try to blow bubbles again!

Step 16: Celebrate the fact that you made bubble solution that made bubbles!

Bubbles on a Fall Day

On a beautiful fall afternoon, Katie wanted to go outside a blow bubbles. Why do bubbles always look so peaceful?

I set up a chair, so I could really enjoy the fall air!

My princess bubble solution made lots of bubbles!

Sadie watched the bubbles carefully!

She goes crazy for bubbles!

After I caught this bubble, I decided to pop it with my nose!

Sadie wanted me to keep going all night!

Planning for a Celebration

About a week before the presidential election, I came home, and Katie had made plans for a party. The party was to celebrate Hillary Clinton becoming the president. Even though she couldn't be sure of the results, she was happy to make plans.

When my mom got home from work, I welcomed her with a house decorated for a celebration!

I made a sign that said, "Hillary's Celebration."

There was a game called, "Find Hillary."

My mom found her hiding in the books!

I set up a station called "Jokes." I made up some good jokes about presidents!

Then I set up a raffle and won prizes out of the drawer in the table!

After I made my campaign sign, my grandma helped me glue a stick on it. It said, "Go Hillary! Hope you win!"

That night I waved my campaign sign and my American flag!

Before I went to bed, I showed my mom the poll results. I was pointing out that Donald Trump's orange head...

…had popped off when he got angry again.

Arrrrrr, Matey!

For Halloween, my mom gave Katie a doll instead of candy. The doll happened to be dressed like a pirate. Katie loved it!

I decided to wear my doll's pirate hat, so I could experience pirate life!

Thanks for my doll! It's so much better than candy!

A Closer Look at the Rocks

After going on her rock hunt, Katie soaked her rocks in water to get them as clean as she could. Once they were clean, she took time to set them out and examine them closely.

I really liked all of my rocks, but...

…this one was my favorite!
