Red Thread...

There is an ancient Chinese belief which states that there is an invisible red thread that connects each of us to all of the individuals who have been, currently are, and will in the future be important to us in our lives.

This red thread can stretch, twist, and bend… but will never break.

A Surprise Gift

My friend, Noreen, was nice enough to think about Katie and send her some of her music boxes in the mail. She knows how much Katie loves music, so she thought she would enjoy the music boxes.

When the box arrived, Katie was very excited to open it. She recognizes Noreen's writing right away and always knows she'll love whatever is inside. She opened the box, and the first thing she found were some old towels that Noreen wrapped the music boxes in. Katie pulled one out and loudly exclaimed, "Look what Grammy Noreen got me! A towel! Did you see? I LOVE it!" It was so funny!

I showed her that something had actually been wrapped in the towels, and she was excited to find the music boxes too. She actually played them all for a long time and watched them while she tried to figure out how they work.

After awhile, she got up and gathered the four towels, hugged them, and said, "Towels! Just what I always wanted! I love them so much!"

Don't worry, Noreen…she loves the music boxes too, but she couldn't get over the special-ness of the towels you packed!

There's nothing better than getting a box in the mail!

Grammy Noreen send me a beautiful towel!

Oh my goodness! There's something else in here.

The music coming out of it is beautiful!

Music is so calming!

There were more music boxes to be found.

This one was so pretty!

After the angel, I found a horse!

Then I found an organ! They were all so much fun to listen to!

I had to go back to the towels at the end! I loved them so much!

This was my favorite towel! It was so soft!

I had lots of picnics with my new towels!

Thank you, Grammy Noreen!

Love to Dance

Katie seems to enjoy dancing more and more each week. It's so much fun to watch her!

I'm trying to walk to the barre just like my teacher does!

Designing

I love Legos. They can let your mind run free with creativity.

I built a perfect ice palace for Elsa!

She gets to go up and down the steps to greet her guests - Tigger tonight.

Being Creative

One night in the bathtub, Katie decided to use her imagination to dress up Eeyore.

He's just like Elsa with a cape!

He's a ghost!

He's wearing a fancy hat!

He has long hair just like Rapunzel!

Still Waiting

I'm still trying to decide if Katie is left- or right-handed. Every time I decide, she's left-handed, she switches to using her right hand more. Then when I decided she must be right-handed, she goes back to her left hand. Sometimes she just uses both.

It's faster to color when I use both hands!

Off to the Pumpkin Patch

Last weekend, we had tried to take Katie to the pumpkin patch, but it was a bad idea considering that it was close to Halloween and it was a beautiful day. After waiting in traffic for a while, we finally got to the over-crowded pumpkin patch and decided to just keep driving.

Jennifer and I decided to take her on a weekday after work instead. Of course, the rain hit this week, so we had a very rainy, muddy, and soggy trip to the pumpkin patch, but Katie had just as must fun as always. Living in this area, you have to be ready to face the rain in any situation anyway!

I felt all alone on the hay pyramid when we first got to the pumpkin patch.

My mom decided to join me on the wet hay.

We were surrounded by mud everywhere, but we made the most of it!

When we visited the animals, the goats were hungry.

The baby goat was even waiting for food.

For the first time ever, I was brave enough to feed the goats. It made me smile.

The baby pigs also made me smile!

These teeth got the biggest laugh though.

After visiting the animals, we were happy to wash our hands.

I was so excited to get on the hay ride. I couldn't wait to choose pumpkins!

We surprisingly had a crowded ride to the pumpkin patch.

We were dropped off at this big field, and I wanted to walk all the way across it!

Who cares if it's raining?

I stopped everyone right here to exclaim, "Look at those beautiful flowers!"

This year, I was looking for small pumpkins, and we found three perfect ones for us!

The hayride back was pretty empty.

I could spread out while I enjoyed the beautiful pumpkin-picking weather.

I was excited to help Aunt Jennifer with the pumpkin washing.

I love to clean!

Unfortunately, I'm just at the right height to get lots of mud on my face while we clean pumpkins.

Then it was time to see how much I have grown...

October 2014

After I measured myself, we found a dry tent for pictures.

Aunt Jennifer even crawled up on the big tractor with me.

Then I tried the wet tractor that was more my size.

We ended our fun on the very slippery path of the corn maze.
Our pumpkin patch trip was an adventure this year!

Cousin It

My mom was combing Katie's hair when I was at work, and a funny picture moment arose. Katie loves this picture.

I don't know why everyone calls me Cousin It when I wear my hair like this.
