Red Thread...

There is an ancient Chinese belief which states that there is an invisible red thread that connects each of us to all of the individuals who have been, currently are, and will in the future be important to us in our lives.

This red thread can stretch, twist, and bend… but will never break.

Spending a Little More Time with Kai

Later that afternoon, Kai's parents wanted to go on a ride that Kai didn't want to go on, so Jennifer offered to keep Kai with us until they were done. We were having lunch, so Kai just joined us at the restaurant. Katie was thrilled. She didn't eat a lot of food with all of her talking, but she had a lot of fun!

I could spend the whole day with Kai and be happy!

Another Friend at the Park

While we were at Disneyland, my team teacher (Michelle) was also there with her family. We had planned on meeting up for a ride, but we couldn't get our schedules right for the ride we planned. When we didn't get to that ride, Katie asked if Michelle's son, Gabrian, could take her on Jumping Jellyfish. He is such a good sport that he automatically said he would take her.

We knew that their family had a fast pass coming up, so we rushed across the park towards the ride. We were looking for Gabrian when he came running up with a huge smile and took Katie off to the ride. It was one of Katie's highlights from our trip. She loves Gabrian!

Gabrian and I found the perfect jellyfish for pictures!

We were excited to start up!

Gabrian were surprised at how high we went.

Thanks for taking me! I loved my time with you!

Back to Toon Town

We happened to be by Toon Town when it opened, and when it opens, there is usually a character or more to greet the guests as they enter. This time it was Goofy. Of course, we had to go say hi.

Good morning, Goofy!

I was so excited to see him!

There's something about the classic characters...

...that just warm my heart!

Say cheese!

I wished him a good day!

After that,  I tried to drive the trolley around town, ...

...Grandma and I tried to lift the barbell off the ground, and...

...I drove the fire truck! We had a good time!

Fantasyland Fun

The next morning, we headed to Disneyland and hung out for awhile in Fantasyland!

It's always fun to head into the park early because you have a little time with a little less crowd!

The castle in the distance never loses its magic.

It wasn't long before I ran into Peter Pan!

I wish I could fly like him!

Then I stopped for a picture in the teacup.

Aunt Debby wanted a picture too!

Before we went somewhere else, we all got a picture in front of the castle.

Then it was time for me to get my own picture.

I love Disneyland!

More Fun with Kai

After spending some time in Toon Town, we met up with Kai again. Kai's dad, Brandon, took Katie and Kai on the Mad Tea Party ride, and then Debby took them on the carousel. Katie was thrilled!

Kai and I were excited to see each other again!

We tried to make our tea cup go in fast circles!

I could have stayed on it all day!

I always love the carousel too!

Off to Toon Town

Of course, we had to take Debby to visit Toon Town while we were in Disneyland! It's always a fun place to go.

Aunt Debby and I got thrown in jail, but luckily we escaped!

I thought I better try the TNT to see if it would explode.

It didn't explode when I pushed it, but it exploded the time after!

Two Fancy Girls

Katie always loves to see her favorite girls!

After my cooking, I got to see Daisy Duck!

There was some Latin music playing by Daisy, and I got to do some dancing with her. I showed her how to do The Running Man!

Then as we entered the other park, I found Minnie Mouse! I couldn't believe my luck!

I was happy to add Minnie's autograph to my book.

I took a picture with her, and then...

...Aunt Debby joined me!

Disney Jr. Chef

The Food & Wine Festival was going on at Disneyland when we were there. Part of the celebration included a program for kids where the kids got to cook with a Disney chef. Katie and Kai made plans to meet there, and they got to make some oatmeal raisin cookies. They were pretty excited to have a special guest there too - Chef Goofy!

Kai and I were ready to take on the challenge of cooking.

Each group of six or so kids got to have a helper with them. We were put at a table in front of the stage.

We couldn't believe it when Goofy got there!

After each table worked together to make the cookie dough, we did some dancing while we waited for the magic oven to back our dough!

Can you find me dancing? I'm on the right side and standing by the stage!

We had so much fun!

We were each given a cookie to take with us when it was over!

Don't Forget the Books

Even though there's always something to do at Disneyland, Katie had room in her mind to think of books. She knew her library teacher was probably reading, and she wanted to try to read more minutes, so each day we traveled with her book. You never knew where there might be a long line that would be perfect for reading.

The line is always long at Radiator Spring Racers even if you have a Fast Pass. Time to read!

Off to Bugs Land

Katie loves Bugs Land, and shortly before our trip, we found out that Bugs Land will be closing to make way for something new. We had to make sure to visit it while it was still there!

We first went on Heimlich's Chew Chew Train. Aunt Debby and I led the group!

It was a good thing I knew how to drive!

Then I took Aunt Debby on Francis' Ladybug Boogie. She's the only one besides me who doesn't get dizzy on this ride.

Then it was time for my favorite Bugs Land ride - Flik's Flyers. My goal was to sit in the Chinese take-out container. Everyone around us wanted that one too!

Aunt Debby went one way, and my mom and I went the other, so we were able to get one of the Chinese containers!

What fun!

A Handsome Fellow

The next morning, we went to DCA first. Not long after we entered, Katie found Goofy in his fancy suit. She had been waiting for a long time to have the opportunity of meeting this dressed-up Goofy!

I was so excited to meet this handsome dog!

He seemed really tall!

It was a good morning!

Bye, Goofy! Have a happy day!
