Red Thread...

There is an ancient Chinese belief which states that there is an invisible red thread that connects each of us to all of the individuals who have been, currently are, and will in the future be important to us in our lives.

This red thread can stretch, twist, and bend… but will never break.

Getting Ready for the Season of Germs

Katie went to the doctor for her yearly check-up, and to end the visit, she got her flu shot. Katie really, really hates shots. It is one of the few things that can make her cry a lot, so she wasn't very happy when I told her it was time for her shot. I reminded her that she didn't even feel her shot last year, which made her a little braver. She told me she was going to try not to cry, and she didn't...until the nurse left the room. I have to give her credit though. She didn't cry very much and got over the experience in record time.  Afterward, she was given extra stickers. She got two stickers of her choice, and then she was given a sticker specifically for getting a flu shot. She was so proud to wear her flue shot sticker for the rest of the day!

I was proud to show everyone that I was brave!
