Red Thread...

There is an ancient Chinese belief which states that there is an invisible red thread that connects each of us to all of the individuals who have been, currently are, and will in the future be important to us in our lives.

This red thread can stretch, twist, and bend… but will never break.

Happy 4th of July, 2018!

This year, Katie invited her friend, Kai, over to join her in the neighborhood bike parade and picnic. As you might imagine, she was thrilled when he was able to join her. It was the very best part of the day for her.

In the evening, Katie decided that she'd rather just watch fireworks on TV instead of going to see them. While we stayed home, we worked on trying to keep our pets calm with the extra noise.

Even though our neighborhood has a bike parade, you can take anything that moves through the parade route!

Kai and I both chose to take our scooters.

It's always so much more fun with two!

And off we went to the park!

How did Kai get so tall? Doesn't he know that I'm older than him?

The first thing we did at the park was to get in line for the balloon guy.

We each got to talk to him about what we wanted him to make.

Kai had him make a sword, and...

...I got a giraffe!

After that, we sat down to enjoy some of the food that was there.

Then we decided to join in on the games.

First, we play tug-of-war.

Then we got tied together for the 3-legged race.

We weren't the fastest ones there, but we had fun!

Thanks for joining me, Kai!

This was us having fun!
