Red Thread...

There is an ancient Chinese belief which states that there is an invisible red thread that connects each of us to all of the individuals who have been, currently are, and will in the future be important to us in our lives.

This red thread can stretch, twist, and bend… but will never break.

Memorial Day Weekend in Idaho

Just like last year on Memorial Day, we once again returned to Idaho to put flowers on the graves of people who were important to us. This year, Katie enjoyed herself a lot more than last year. She was a trooper on our busy day!

I wanted to help Aunt Jennifer clean my great-grandparents' headstone.

I scrubbed it long and hard.
I even made up a slow paced song about scrubbing.

When we went to the second cemetery, we went to see the ducks, geese, and the small play area. We turned the corner, and we were shocked to see geese under the picnic table. As the babies started towards us, the big geese came running after us to protect the babies. We stayed at a safe distance, but we had fun watching them!

I had just backed up from the very large geese.

The geese were watching us closely.

I found a slide!

My mom played on this exact slide when she was little!

Here are some of the ducks we saw.

I found this, Tristan! You can have it.

You've gotta get up and keep moving!

It was so bright that I put on my Hello Kitty sunglasses.

Tristan got to wear Aunt Jennifer's sunglasses.

Sometimes it's nice to look at each other without sunglasses though.

Andrew found the dirty water that we used to water the flowers.

He decided to clean his pacifier in it.

Tristan decided to drink the water.

I thought I better go explore the fun with the water.

I saw it was dirty and stepped back at a safe distance!

Last year, all I did was cry when I was by this grave.

This year I did a small dance!

Garyldine helped me water the flowers.

Tristan borrowed my sunglasses...

...then Andrew did.
They look good in Hello Kitty!

I was so happy to get back to our hotel room that I danced in front of the full length mirror!

Then I found a bag to play in.

It's kind of fun to jump in a paper bag!
