Red Thread...

There is an ancient Chinese belief which states that there is an invisible red thread that connects each of us to all of the individuals who have been, currently are, and will in the future be important to us in our lives.

This red thread can stretch, twist, and bend… but will never break.

The Many Ways Katie Plays

Last night, I was alone with Katie. I just let her play while I chased her with the camera. She is a very busy girl!

She began the night with her bubble bottle. As previously posted, Katie loves bubbles. She wanted to be around bubbles almost the whole day through, so I gave her an empty bubble bottle, and that semi-satisfies her bubble need while she blows imaginary bubbles. She was using her bottle in a different way last night though. The bottle was a paint can, and the wand was a paintbrush. I guess the next time we have to paint, we'll have a helper with Katie!

This wall will look so much better after I paint it!

I better reach up high too.

A good painter always checks her work!

Hey, how did you get up there?

After painting, I tried to encourage Katie to play with her dolls. So far, she hasn't had a strong interest in her dolls. She much prefers her stuffed animals. I just thought I'd push her interest along by putting her doll in her arms last night.

Hmmm…I wonder why my mom put you here?

I like your hands.

Maybe you're okay.

You know you're in my chair.

My mom thought I was going to play with this doll, but I just want to see if she has a belly button.

Strange…no belly button.

I think I'll put the doll away and get my bunny instead.

After we played with the dolls and the bunny, Katie got to play one of her favorite all time games - Chase.  I chased her around the house as she ran away from me.

You caught me!

Let's go again!

Katie then decided to go back to her bubble bottle. This time she was back to blowing imaginary bubbles.

Did you see that bubble I just blew? Guess who it landed on?

It landed on Chloe!

Here's another one, Chloe!

You can sit here, Mom!

Right here!

Katie then got distracted by a large bird that flew by our window. I caught a picture of it after it landed on a post.

There's a bird up there! Quack, quack!

Did you see that bird?

We ended our night of play with books. Katie wanted to read the books to me, so she pulled her chair up close and started reading.

This is a fun book to read!

Look at this pretty jewelry box!
