Red Thread...

There is an ancient Chinese belief which states that there is an invisible red thread that connects each of us to all of the individuals who have been, currently are, and will in the future be important to us in our lives.

This red thread can stretch, twist, and bend… but will never break.

Landscaping at Grandma's and Grandpa's House

This year for Mother's Day, my mom wanted fresh bark in front of her house instead of flowers. We were a few weeks late, but Katie was excited to take part in the present.

After we finished spreading the bark, we re-potted two plants for my mom, and the plants had to be cut back a little. Finding the cuttings was the best part of Katie's day! They provided lots of toys for her.

 This rake was pretty heavy!

Grandma helped me for a little bit.

Then I finished by myself.

I found the cuttings from the plants, and I realized that they made a perfect umbrella!

I gave Grandpa an umbrella too, so we could match!

Then I realized that the loose leaves could make a perfect hat!

I helped my mom sweep the deck, but it was hard with a leaf in one hand.

I made myself an extra-fancy hat with three leaves.

Shelby liked her hat too! I thought she looked beautiful!
