Red Thread...

There is an ancient Chinese belief which states that there is an invisible red thread that connects each of us to all of the individuals who have been, currently are, and will in the future be important to us in our lives.

This red thread can stretch, twist, and bend… but will never break.

As Christmas Comes to an End

One of the last few days that our Christmas decorations were up, Katie decided to spend some quality time with the advent calendar again. When she saw that there weren't any more treats in the drawers, she ran and got her Craisins and dry Chinese noodles. (Those were typically the treats in the drawers.)

She began putting her goodies in the drawers herself, and then she gave them to me to finish. Since she doesn't get the idea of opening one drawer a day until Christmas yet, I just randomly put treats in some of the drawers. I love to watch her take them out. If the drawer is empty, she just shakes her head, says "no," sets it down and moves onto the next drawer. If it has a treat, she inhales quickly like she's surprised, puts the treat in her mouth, and very dramatically says, "Yum, yum!"

After playing with the advent calendar for awhile, Katie noticed that some of the glitter from the drawers got onto her hands. Oh calamity! She tried and tried to get the glitter off, but she learned the hard lesson that glitter never comes off completely. She'll probably still find bits of glitter in a month!

I found something!

"Mmmm…yum, yum!"

I got glitter all over my hands!

Maybe I should try to pick it off!

Will this towel take it off?
