Red Thread...

There is an ancient Chinese belief which states that there is an invisible red thread that connects each of us to all of the individuals who have been, currently are, and will in the future be important to us in our lives.

This red thread can stretch, twist, and bend… but will never break.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

On our first full morning in Disneyland, Jennifer had made reservations for Katie at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. It is a boutique right next to the castle that transforms girls into princesses. Katie was able to choose a new costume, the ladies gave her a princess hairdo, and she was given princess nail polish and make-up. After the transformation, Katie took part in a photo session and was then escorted for a private meeting with three princesses.

Surprisingly when Katie was asked to choose a new costume, instead of choosing a princess, she chose Tinkerbell. She likes Tinkerbell very much, but we were all expecting her to choose the Anna costume from Frozen since she had been talking about it a lot. Katie's a girl who knows what she wants though!

There was a lot going on at the boutique, but Katie didn't seem very nervous about it. She told me that it was "just like Nikki's," the place where she goes with my mom and Garyldine when they get their hair done. After getting her hair and make-up completely done, the lady doing her hair finally revealed the mirror with Disney's magic and let Katie see her transformation. Katie was shocked and very happy with the result.

Next up was the photo session. It was funny to watch Katie during the session because she had the most unnatural smiles for the most part. We realized that it was because of the make-up. Other than her sparkly lip gloss, Katie has never worn make-up. I don't think she thought she could move her face normally with lip gloss, eye make-up, a face jewel, and sparkles. By the time she finished with the pictures, she was moving her face again!

We waited for the pictures to be printed out, and we were escorted to meet the princesses. For Katie, they were the first characters that talked. She had no problem walking up to some of her favorite princesses, but she was pretty quiet. She listened to every word they said though. It was an experience of a lifetime!

After I got my new costume on, I waited to see what would happen next.

I got to move to the chair to get my hair done. As soon as I sat down, my hair got piled on top of my head.

I was very happy when I got to choose a tiara to wear!

Then it was time for more work on my hair.

A second lady came to do my nails and make-up.

It takes a team to make a princess!

I got to wear a special face mask to protect my eyes from sparkles.

I was done, but I didn't know what I looked like until...

…the mirror magically appeared!

I loved it!

Then it was time to wait to get pictures. While I waited, Grandma tried to find some princess shoes for me, but they didn't have my size. A lady helped her find Tinkerbell puffs to put on top of my shoes instead.

I tried to smile naturally for my pictures, but I didn't want to mess up my make-up.

I got to feed Thumper.

I also got pictures in front of Cinderella's carriage.

I even got to sit inside of it.

I felt very much like a princess.

We got to wait outside for my pictures to be developed.

I met another princess while I waited.

Afterward, I met my first princess, Ariel. She was the princess who made me fall in love with princesses!

We talked for awhile, and I tried to help her fly with my pixie dust.

Then we got a picture together.

Bye, Ariel! I love you!

Then I turned the corner and found Snow White!

She was very nice!

I got a hug from her too!

After the next corner, I found Cinderella!

She had a beautiful dress!

Princesses are my favorite! Thank you, Aunt Jennifer, for one of the best days in my life!
