Red Thread...

There is an ancient Chinese belief which states that there is an invisible red thread that connects each of us to all of the individuals who have been, currently are, and will in the future be important to us in our lives.

This red thread can stretch, twist, and bend… but will never break.

A Place Worth Seeing

Our first stop on our road trip was Crater Lake National Park. It is one of those places that looks beautiful in pictures, but pictures don't compare to seeing it with your own eyes. It is one of the prettiest views I have ever seen. The water is an amazing deep blue that you can't quite believe.

While we were there, we stopped for lunch. Then we travelled around the lake. The day before we arrived, a wildfire had started in part of the park. In our trip around the lake, we were able to see the fire in the distance. We were so glad that the fire was far enough away that the lake hadn't been closed yet.

After leaving the park, we headed towards California. It was a long, but enjoyable, first day in the car!

Sometimes when you're in the car for a long time, it's best to take a little nap.

It was so exciting to see Crater Lake!

It's the deepest lake in the United States!

Besides seeing the lake, it was nice to get out of the car for a bit.

The lake looked a lot bigger in person than you can really see in pictures.

Sometimes I like to be silly when I take pictures!

When we sat down for lunch, I was still being funny with my faces!

I had never seen water so blue.

At the end of our time by the lake, the smoke was starting to move over from the wildfire.

I was glad we had come!

We stopped to look at the fire in the distance. The rangers were keeping a close eye on it.

After leaving Crater Lake, we drove to California. As we approached the border, we spied Mt. Shasta!
